To understand Agent D. Terrell Hunter is to understand the evolving culture and history of Austin, Texas. A resident of the city since the age of two, Terrell began his professional music career at just 15 years old. His early involvement in Austin’s music scene brought him into close connection with many of the city’s influential leaders and business owners. He developed a strong relationship with Bob Woody, then-president of the Downtown Austin Alliance, and went on to become a part-owner of the iconic Club 115. Simultaneously, he was signed to Innersoul Records, an affiliate of Interscope Records.

Following a successful run in both the local and national music industries, Terrell transitioned into real estate with the mentorship of former Warner Bros. Records President Fred Meyers. He joined Austin City Living, where he spent 13 years specializing in both residential and niche commercial real estate. With a background in sound engineering, music production, venue ownership, and commercial real estate, Terrell brings a unique and highly specialized expertise to entertainment-focused properties. He offers in-depth knowledge of transactions, leasing, and development for venues that integrate music, entertainment, or gaming components.

Terrell specializes in properties such as restaurants, bars, coffee shops, office-warehouse hybrids, and, notably, live music venues. His understanding of acoustics, audiovisual infrastructure, and customer flow within commercial spaces positions him as a valuable resource during build-outs and remodels. Many venue owners overlook critical technical requirements, such as sound system design or visual display placement—areas where Terrell provides essential guidance.

In addition to his professional experience, Terrell served a three-year term on Austin’s Music Commission, giving him insight into local policy matters, including sound ordinances and permitting, particularly relevant for venues with outdoor areas or patios. Whether you’re opening a new venue, remodeling an existing one, or navigating the purchase, lease, or sale of a property with entertainment features, Terrell offers both the technical expertise and real estate insight to support your success. If your business involves live music, staging, lighting, or audiovisual components, consulting with Terrell is a strategic investment in your future.
