Aung Thet
Thet is a seasoned senior analyst with a decade of experience across real estate, construction, financial services, and technology, underpinned by strong proficiency in corporate and real estate finance, strategy, and business development.
His career began in real estate during an internship with Market Maker Realty and Investments, a real estate capital markets intermediary, while pursuing an economics degree at The University of Texas at Austin. When the firm’s principals joined E Smith Capital Partners, he continued with them, further building his grounding in underwriting, capitalization, and the structuring of real estate transactions.
Upon returning to his homeland, Myanmar, Thet joined Capital Diamond Star Group, a leading diversified conglomerate, where he held various roles within its real estate division. These positions provided hands-on exposure to large-scale infrastructure, building construction, and real estate development projects.
He later transitioned to the conglomerate’s Group Strategy and Business Development function, where he was involved in the full cycle of corporate development activities—from ideation and opportunity evaluation to cross-functional planning, due diligence, execution, and post-deal integration—across a wide range of industries, including food and agriculture, retail, real estate, financial services, and automotive. Concurrently, he served as Head of Strategy, Financial Planning, and Performance Management for the group’s fintech arm, which operates a mobile money platform.
His collaborative, people-centric leadership style fostered strong relationships with partners, investors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, aligning them around shared strategic goals.
Additionally, Thet co-founded Rapid Kitchens, Myanmar’s first ghost kitchen company, successfully launching several virtual restaurant brands that gained rapid traction within weeks of their debut.
Thet’s ability to combine analytical rigor, operational execution, and strategic vision—shaped by a global perspective—enables him to translate complex deal economics into actionable insights and tangible business outcomes.
